Kate Han, AMFT

Registered Associate MFT 158365 / working under supervision

I am a 1.5-generation bilingual Korean-speaking associate marriage and family therapist 158365, practicing under the supervision of Judy Huang, LMFT #114481. I approach therapy with empathy, cultural awareness, and a deep commitment to creating a safe, supportive space where individuals, couples, and families feel truly seen, heard, and valued. Currently, based in Pasadena and Koreatown, I offer both in-person sessions and virtual sessions across California in both fluent English and Korean.

I work with those of you experiencing depression, anxiety, imposter syndrome, burnout, codependency, or spiritual disillusionment. You may also be someone who is simply seeking greater meaning, purpose, and authentic connection in life. Whatever is the reason that is bringing you into therapy, we will explore what is holding you back, uncover insight into patterns, and cultivate resilience, self-compassion, and healthier relationships with yourself and others.

I also have a special interest in working with adult children navigating complex relationships with immigrant parents. Many of you carry generational trauma, face cultural or language barriers, or feel misunderstood and disconnected from your parents traumatized by their own histories. I help you set healthy boundaries and foster understanding and freedom within your family relationships.

For couples seeking reconnection, I work with those of you trying to break old patterns from your family of origin, navigate intercultural differences, or adjust to life transitions such as loss, growing children, aging parents, or empty nests. I also support those of you who identify as older first-generation immigrant parents who want deeper bonds with your adult children. Together, we will work to strengthen intimacy, trust, and mutual understanding while bridging generational gaps, creating more meaningful and connected family relationships.

My lived experience spans diverse careers in healthcare, real estate, and faith-based work, alongside studies in science, business, and theology. I have navigated life as a daughter caring for aging parents, caregiver supporting loved ones with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, mother of young adults in their twenties, and a wife in a busy and demanding profession. Having immigrated as a teen and growing up as the daughter of hardworking immigrant parents, I intimately understand the joys, challenges, and complexities of immigrant family life. These experiences fuel my dedication to guiding others in cultivating clarity, balance, and meaningful connections with themselves and the people they love.

I believe that holding space for healing is part of my divine calling. Life’s challenges often contain the seeds of growth, and I help you face old patterns that no longer serve you, allowing your brightest selves to emerge. Within a secure and compassionate therapeutic relationship, I offer a space where you can experience nurturing love, confront what holds you back, and learn to extend that same care to yourself. It is an honor to walk alongside you as you step into a whole, healed, and empowered version of yourself.

As a certified Level 2 Restoration Therapist, I support clients in healing relational wounds, rebuilding trust, and cultivating a renewed sense of hope and purpose. My approach helps uncover and transform unhelpful patterns, navigate conflict, and strengthen intimacy and connection. I also integrate Brainspotting, a trauma-informed modality that facilitates deep processing of family-of-origin experiences and the release of long-held emotional and somatic distress.
