Kate Han, AMFT

Registered Associate MFT 158365 / working under supervision

I am a bilingual Korean-speaking Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#158365), practicing under the supervision of Judy Huang (LMFT #114481). I am certified in Brainspotting, Level 2 Restoration Therapy, and Prepare Enrich. I am also trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy Levels 1 and 2. I approach therapy with empathy, cultural awareness, and a deep commitment to creating a safe, supportive space where you can feel truly seen, heard, and valued. I am based in Pasadena and Koreatown, and offer both in-person and virtual sessions throughout California in fluent English and Korean.

I work with those of you experiencing depression, anxiety, imposter syndrome, burnout, codependency, or spiritual disillusionment, as well as those seeking greater meaning and connection. In our work together, we will explore what may be holding you back, uncover patterns, and cultivate resilience, self-compassion, and healthier relationships with yourself and others.

I have a special interest in supporting adult children navigating complex relationships with immigrant parents. Many of you carry generational trauma, face cultural or language barriers, or feel disconnected from parents who may be coping with their own histories. I help you set healthy boundaries and foster understanding and freedom within your family relationships. I also support older first-generation immigrant parents who want deeper connections with their adult children. Together, we will strengthen intimacy, trust, and mutual understanding, bridge generational gaps, and create more meaningful family connections.

If you and your partner feel stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed, you are not alone. Many couples struggle with repeating arguments, feeling misunderstood, balancing parenting, or carrying the weight of past wounds and differences. I will help you uncover patterns that keep you stuck, strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and create a relationship where both of you feel heard, supported, and deeply connected.

My lived experience spans careers in healthcare, real estate, and faith-based work. I have navigated life as a daughter caring for aging parents, a mother of two adult children, and a wife to a partner with a busy and demanding work schedule, giving me firsthand understanding of the challenges of juggling multiple roles. Having immigrated as a teen and grown up as the child of hardworking immigrant parents, I have a deep appreciation for the joys, struggles, and complexities of immigrant family life.

Holding space for healing is part of my calling. Life’s challenges often contain the seeds of growth, and I will walk alongside you as you face old patterns that no longer serve you, allowing your brightest self to emerge. Within a safe and compassionate therapeutic relationship, you can experience nurturing care, confront what holds you back, and learn to extend that same compassion to yourself. It is an honor to walk with you as you step into a whole, healed, and empowered version of yourself.

My Approach

Empowering
Encouraging
Directive

I use Restoration Therapy and Brainspotting together because they each support healing in powerful and meaningful ways. Restoration Therapy helps us understand how your history, family, culture, and past relationships shape the way you see yourself and connect with others. As we name the patterns that keep you stuck, we begin creating new ways of responding that feel more authentic, grounded, and freeing. Brainspotting helps us reach the deeper places where stress, trauma, and old emotions have been held. When these experiences surface safely, real emotional, relational, and neurological change becomes possible. My style is warm, intuitive, and gently direct. I aim to empower and encourage you whether you come as an individual or as a couple. Together, we clarify emotions, shift unhelpful beliefs, and build practical steps that support lasting healing, connection, and growth.
