Elizabeth Yoshonis, AMFT
registered associate 157277 / working under supervision
I am a registered associate marriage and family therapist currently working under the supervision of Hanna Byeon, LMFT, CA #126398. I offer both in-person sessions in Pasadena and the greater Los Angeles area, alongside virtual sessions.
As an associate marriage and family therapist and level 2 Brainspotting practitioner, I am passionate about supporting individuals, couples, mothers, and families through life’s complex emotional terrain. With a warm and collaborative approach, I help clients navigate challenges such as relationship struggles, life transitions, anxiety, and parenting stress.
A particular focus of my work is supporting mothers as they move through the often-overwhelming journey of motherhood. Drawing from both professional training and personal experience as a mom of three children and wife, I bring a deep, empathetic understanding to the emotional, relational, and identity shifts that motherhood can bring.
As an Enneagram Two — the Helper — my work is truly heart-driven. I’m naturally drawn to care for others, and I create a space where clients feel genuinely seen, supported, and encouraged to grow. My goal is to walk alongside you with compassion and purpose, helping you reconnect with your own strength and clarity.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a special education teacher—an experience that shaped my sensitivity to neurodiversity, developmental needs, and the power of patience and compassion in growth and healing. I also bring a strong commitment to cultural humility and have experience working with individuals and families from a variety of cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I honor the unique values, identities, and lived experiences each client brings into the room.
I am committed to creating a safe, supportive space for clients to feel seen, heard, and empowered. Whether you are seeking individual healing, improving your partnership, or working to strengthen your family relationships, I’m here to walk with you on your path toward greater connection and well-being.

My Approach
Collaborative
holistic
warm
I offer a warm and gentle collaborative approach, grounded in the belief that healing is a journey best taken together. As a level II trained Restoration Therapist, I am shaped by attachment theory, family systems theory, and somatic therapy, which allows me to view your experiences through multiple lenses and tailor our work to your unique needs. I aim to craft a space where you can safely explore areas of difficulty and pain, unearth unconscious patterns of relating, and foster meaningful change. I seek to walk with you as you reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have been lost or buried over time. In my work, I also use Brainspotting, a somatic-based therapy model, to help shed the weight of harmful cultural and familial narratives that have become ingrained. Together, we will rediscover truths about your identity, nurture a compassionate connection to your true self, and practically move toward greater growth and healing. Throughout this process, I will walk beside you, supporting you as you navigate this season and step into a more integrated life.
THERAPIST-CLIENT FIT IS IMPORTANT TO THE THERAPY EXPERIENCE
I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to determine if we might be a good fit to work together. It takes courage to reach out for support. I consider it a privilege to journey alongside you toward your healing and wellness that empowers you to live out your most authentic life.
