A support group is not therapy. It’s a psychoeducational group with an emphasis on learning practical skills with safe people that can lead to powerful change in your life. These support groups can be accessed virtually from anywhere in the world.

JUNE 2024 / 5 weeks / saturdays 10am-12pm

social skills for kids with adhd

This is a 5-week psychoeducational support group that meets in-person on Saturdays from 10AM-12PM at our Pasadena office starting on June 1, 2024. It is designed to provide your 8-10yo child with the opportunity to better understand themselves and navigate friendships through art, crafts, play, and games. Your child will learn new skills to manage symptoms and have fun integrate the ADHD part of their identity. This group is led by Esther Kim, LMFT #123592 and Elizabeth Oh, AMFT #123075 working under supervision and will consist of 6-8 participants (not including the therapist). Limited sliding scale available upon inquiry.

The following topics will be covered:

What is ADHD: Your child’s strength and normalizing their experiences

Perspective taking and handling conflict through puppet play

Friendship building for healthy relationships

Mindfulness skill building through art and play

Practicing positive communication skills

Exploring creative porblem solving solutions

Expressing your confident voice in relationships
